Like, in general? Or in the masq? If it's the former, I was too distracted to notice most of the time, though some particularly bad ones stood out. If it's the latter, I take offense to that./sarcasm

I was talking in general. I thought the ones in the masq. were okay and some were awsome except for the Alois Trancy and the skit with the four girls singing and dancing.

Pic related, she was at AI and she was a horrible Tifa. x_x

Truth. Random dancing skits need to die, forever. This ain't your middle school talent show.
I can understand if dancing happens in the source material. Actual Haruhi Suzumiya cosplayers doing Hare Hare Yukai makes sense, even if it's old as the hills. Lucky Star cheerleaders, sure. A Claude from Kuro II tapdancing, I could roll with.
Even if it's not canon, and you dance in a way that expresses something about the character, to relevant music - sure. My friend tap-danced through her poses to Puttin' On The Ritz with a top-hat and cane while cosplaying Ciel. That worked.
But it sucks when it's clear that someone just wanted to go up and dance, and the cosplay is like an afterthought. The girls who sang and danced. Or the Allen Walker who danced to that High School Musical song... she was a GREAT dancer. But it still made no goddamn sense. Last year like two or three people danced to Single Ladies for no good reason. The year before it was Sexy Back. That kind of shit is why skits should be screened. :T
Speaking of screening, how was that 2+ HOURS OF NOTHING out in the audience while the judges got sorted out? 'Cause we were lovin' it in the green room!

Aw man, I was only there for an hour of nothing, I regret not staying for more!(sarcasm) My dad was getting pissed that I hadn't called him yet and I had to leave since I couldn't get signal in that room.
going a bit off topic; You know that awesome Ceil from last year?! She was awesome, ever since my friends and I saw her skit we've been hocked on Puttin' On The Ritz, but now I regret not getting her picture and maybe saying hi, but I was to shy. >.<
