Hotel or Con Name : ohayocon 2010, stayed in the drury
When you stayed : jan 27th to 31st
Hotel/Con Staff : Hotel staff for the drury was nice, con security was a bit lax and seemed more interested at flirting with girls on the stairs. gophers.......i had to yell MOVE twice because they where blocking the double door to get out of the green room during the masq, i was carrying a 15 pound cat umberlla for kiwi. then also busted another one cutting in line for an elevator on the 17th floor of the hyatt while carrying nothing on the last day of the con. not exactly the smartest this year
Overall Impressions : besides the gophers and the minority of security interested in getting ass with their yellow shirt rather then doing their job, i was pleased
Misc. Comments : heres a picture of your best masters winner

Itachi-chan and I failed at making the cosfu meetup. :C We were looking for you on Saturday; it was Friday. HURR WE READ GUDD.

But GOOD TIMES WERE HAD ANYWAY. Food was cheap and accessible. Our hotel was reasonably nearby. We found a neat bar full of stained glass, so we threw an impromptu Kuroshitsuji photoshoot around/on the pool tables and got smashed. I hit on everything that lurched.

I can't recall having EVER seen a better masquerade! The dance numbers got a bit old, but everything else was fantastic! And kitty-umbrella was one of ours? I'm so proud. ;_;

Hotel or Con Name : ohayocon 2010, Hyatt Regency
When you stayed : jan 29th to 31st
Hotel/Con Staff : Hotel was rude at first but they started doing their buisness and after complaining got a night free and free valet parking. No noisy weaboos to keep me awake since I had to get early to put on my cosplay.
Overall Impressions : Even thought I spent most of the time talking to people, Legend of Zelda Photoshoot (guess who I was), dealers room and at the masquerade, had fun. Though I wish what the fuck was wrong with my costume in judging besides my leather belt slipping and placket needed a quick sticth after the walk on (didn't have time to go back to the cosplay feedback due to needed handler to be there. She was tired.)Oh well, always next time. Good thing nothing fell apart unlike my last attempt entertering the masquerade (never doing Amaro design until I get more skills). Just needs adjustments every 6 hours.
Misc. Comments : I have never seen so many people freak out over chainmail and WTF awesome props.

Hotel or Con Name : Ohayocon 2010, Drury Inn and Suites
When you stayed : Jan 27th to 31st
Hotel/Con Staff : Hotel staff was wonderful. The Drury is always very accommodating. However the con security in the yellow shirts seemed more interested in bitching at cosplayers for taking their painful shoes off rather than pay attention to the retards running in the halls or just standing in the middle of the hallway.
Overall Impressions : This con always keeps me so busy. I always have a good time and enjoy seeing friends.
Misc. Comments : I am fucking sick of people talking about "losing the game."

Hotel or Con Name : Ohayocon 2010, Crowne Plaza
When you stayed : Jan 28th to 31st
Hotel/Con Staff : I saw nothing of our Hotel staff really. The people in the rooms around us were extremely noisy all night though, but they were from the cheerleading thing so I'm not terribly shocked. Con staff - the few I saw outside of registration were annoying; especially the ones for the masq. line. Apparently none of the staff members could agree on which end of the line was the actual end and after the third time of them making me walk the entire line I just gave up and didn't go.
Overall Impressions : This con is always my favorite, since its the only place I really see all of my convention friends in one spot.
Misc. Comments : I wish I had known before hand how cold the skywalk got at night.

Hotel or Con Name : Ohayocon 2010, Crowne Plaza
When you stayed : Jan 28th to 31st
Hotel/Con Staff : Hotel staff was very polite and check in/check out was painless. Barely any wait for elevators was fantastic too.
Con Staff: Meh, didn't really have anything to do with them other than being told to put my heels back on while waiting in line for the Fantasy Ball. I really didn't see why my taking them off was such a big fucking deal since we were just STANDING THERE. I ended up with really sore feet and a blister from standing still in one spot since they took so damn long getting the ball started. (half hour late)

Overall Impressions : Nothing bad but other than hanging out with friends nothing spectacular either.

Misc. Comments : I also wish I had known before hand how cold the skywalk got at night. Oh and the escalators breaking in the skywalk kinda sucked.

Hotel or Con Name : Ohayocon 2010; stayed at the Hyatt

When you stayed : January 29th-31st

Hotel/Con Staff: The hotel staff were extremely rude as soon as we got there. The parking garage closest to the hotel was already full, so we parked right in front of the entrance in the unloading zone so we could unload the car and then find another place to park. Not only did they REFUSE to let us use a luggage cart (probably because we weren't paying for valet), but they also wouldn't let us leave the car there while we took our stuff up to the room. So, our mom had to find another place to park while we attempted to take all of our stuff up to the room between the two of us (my sister and me).

Some of the con staff were nice (like the guy who helped escort us through the hallways so people would quit stopping my sister for pictures), but some of them were also rather unreasonable. My sister and some of her friends had a private photoshoot scheduled with Elemental on Saturday. So, the rest of us were sitting around waiting for them. A con staff accused us of camping out in the hallways and told us to move. They did back off after we told them we were waiting on my sister though.

Misc: While my sister and I were waiting on the elevators with our hands full of luggage on Friday, the elevator doors that were literally a foot away from us opened and this fat ass bitch with NO luggage in her hands had the gall to shove us aside and get on the elevator right in front of us. We had to wait another 10-15 minutes because of it. Believe me, I would've taken the stairs if we weren't on the 17th floor.

There was A LOT of rudeness going on with the other attendees. People kept stopping right in front of us and kept running into us because they weren't paying any attention to where they were going. It was also obvious that we were in a hurry trying to get my sister to the masquerade line for the participants on Saturday, and people STILL kept stopping us for pictures and even ran right in front of us to get us to stop moving.

I hate bad body odor, and I don't remember it being THIS bad out of all the cons that I've ever attended (been going to them since 2001). Bad body odor is the main reason why I completely avoid the video game rooms. It was EVERYWHERE this year, and it was especially bad in the dealer's room on all three days. You would think it wouldn't be so bad on Friday in the early afternoon, but I was solely mistaken. You couldn't get within three feet of a dealer's booth without smelling someone's onion armpits. D:

The other issue I had was smelling cigarette smoke every time we took the stairs down to the food court where the coffee shop is. For some reason, that little pit to the left of the coffee place was a hotspot for smoking. Don't get me wrong. I don't care if other people smoke. That's their choice. I just wish some of them would take it outside out of courtesy towards the rest of us. It's also supposed to be prohibited to smoke inside the building anyway, but that area obviously wasn't being watched.

The dealer's room and artist alley sucked this year, although I did have the same experience when I attended Ohayocon back in 2005. So, I wasn't really surprised by the general lack of a decent selection.

In short, the only real highlight for this weekend was the fact that we spent our time with awesome people, but I also came to the convention expecting just that. So, I wasn't disappointed at all. Also, THANK YOU again evaunit01berserk for the Rilakkuma plushie. That was rather unexpected and very kind of you, and I really appreciate it. :D

Hotel or Con Name : Ohayocon 2010, Hyatt Regency hotel
When you stayed : Jan 28th to Feb 1st
Hotel/Con Staff : Hotel staff was lovely to me. They granted my request for the 5th floor, immediately brought up extra hangers and towels and honestly seemed interested when asking what the con was all about. Sunday night my friend got very sick and had to be rushed to the ER. Hotel staff responded immediately and had an ambulance within minutes. When I checked out this morning they asked how she was and if we needed anything. I understand that calling the ambulance is something a hotel must do in an emergency but the staff cared enough to ask about how my friend was when we returned from the hospital and at check out.
Con Staff: I mainly dealt with a Moogle (Tandy?) who was amazing! For costume judging instead of simply saying "go that way" she personally walked us down to the room. She was extremely pleasant and helpful the entire weekend. Other than her I really didn't deal with anyone else.
Overall Impressions : Seemed much smaller this year attendance wise. Elevators were always crowded but on Sat people actually let me on first when I was wearing Queen Beryl. Not only did they let me on but they prevented the elevator from getting overcrowded and helped protect my armour. This happened more than once. There will always be the young children I want to slap but I found several mature people who respected others and I thought that was refreshing.

Misc. Comments : After the masquerade I took my shoulder armour, front armour, shawl, train and boots off. During the walk back to the hotel carrying my armour and wearing plushie Sailor Moon slippers I was stopped several times for pictures. I politely refused saying that I was not in full costume. 3 different people gave me attitude and one had the nerve to call me a bitch. I didn't know that being at a con meant I was obligated by law to take every single picture!!!

Hotel or Con Name: Ohayocon 2010 // Drury Inn

When you stayed: January 27 - 31st.

Hotel/Con Staff: The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel manager was checking on the dinner/drink set up one night and saw my friends and I in costumes (I was wearing a bloody apron) and joked that he hoped we hid the hooker between the mattresses and didn't just leave her out in the open. Very friendly, very chill.

Con Staff. . . eh, I ran into one and he asked me to hold my tail to the side when I walked so people didn't run into it. That was my total experience with them.

Overall Impressions: My last Ohayocon and it went out with a whimper instead of a bang. The crowd seemed very young during the day, very rowdy and not concerned with other people or other people's property. Only went to one panel and did one tour of the dealer's room. The artists alley was nice, I liked the selection of original artwork and found that a nice change.

The Hyatt bar was epic. But then, they could have set up a liquor dispensing kiosk and I probably would have thought that was awesome, too.

Misc. Comments: The majority of the cheerleaders were super nice but I am embarrassed that the super speshul hot topic kids couldn't be as nice in return. Or at least polite.

I know at least 3 members won craftmanship awards this year. The costumes were all so amazing, I was in awe! Congratulations to everyone!

Best in Show which I was honored to have commissioned almost a year ago and proud to model in the competition. Congrats to God Save the Queen!

Hotel or Con Name: Ohayocon 2010 / Crowne Plaza Downtown Columbus
When you stayed: January 28 - 31st.

Hotel staff: I rarely saw them to be honest, but they seemed friendly enough on the few brief occasions when I did. The room was not in my name, but Sinner_Chrno didn't seem to have any issues with checking in or out.

The hotel itself was great. The rooms were all remodeled with LCD TV's and high-def cable and new art deco-ish furniture, the bathrooms were nice, and the pillows are AWESOME and squishy. The second floor also had lots of nice places to sit and talk. The elevator waits didn't seem to be too bad, but I took the stairs most of the weekend since we were only on the third floor so they might have been busy at some point and I just missed it.

As others have said, that 'walk of shame' back from the Hyatt bar to the Crowne via covered walkway is cold as fuck and they had the escalators in it turned off, but I am a fatass and needed the exercise anyways, so no biggie.

Con Staff: No attitude problems from what I saw this year, and the live events staff member who got the con center's tech crew to help us when our panel room was lacking an audio cable was very friendly and helpful. Some of the live events staff posted at the various tables outside panel rooms didn't have a clue what was going on and I got re-directed 3 times to the wrong place for our pre-panel sign-in, but it wasn't a huge deal since the woman in charge of the actual live events room across from registration knew her shit, so it was fine.

Overall Impressions: Other than my panel and a friend's panel, I didn't attend any events this year, I mostly meandered in the hallways and chilled in the bar. It did seem as if attendance increased this year, as did the reek. The demographic at anime cons keeps shifting younger and younger, and Ohayocon's no exception, but that's no fault of the con staff and things seemed to run reasonably well from what I saw.

Misc. Comments: As sad and lame as our convention attendees are, I found the prosti-tot cheerleaders we were sharing space with to be even sadder. Jumping Jesus Christ on a cracker, what the fuck is wrong with mothers today? Those poor girls have their whole adolescence onward to be treated as eye candy, why make them look like drag queens when they're 7?

Hotel or Con Name: Ohayocon 2010, Stayed at the Renaissance by Marriott down the road

When you stayed : Jan 29th to 31st

Hotel Staff : I just wish this hotel was closer to the con so that everyone could have this amazing staff and hotel. They were the most helpful bunch I have ever seen. They helped me cart stuff up by hand when the second wave of people staying in our room showed up, and they even walked to our off site parking with us to help us load up a cart before getting them up to our room. The hotel itself is amazing too, I could not believe I was getting a place like that for $79.80 a night. I hope weather warms up next year though, since the walk was kind of cold.

Con Staff: I didn't see much of security, but those that helped be set up for panels were amazing. I really wish I could have thanked them all again because of them we stayed so well on schedule and everything went off perfectly!

Misc. Comments : Everyone I ran into was actually rather polite and understanding when I had to turn down a photo op. I am so thankful to those that understood what "I have a panel I need to go set up," meant and had the courtesy to let me go. Also, convention center staff were rather nice too. One of the locations for meet-ups that was listed on the forums actually ended up being a bad location for a greeting as large as the One Piece shoot--however one of the staffers was nice enough to help us find a good location nearby that didn't block walk ways.
